When I was but a young nerdling back in the day, I stepped into a book store in Hamra that used to be in front of the Idriss supermarket (today it's just a bank), asked for the graphic novels, but was told by the employee that all they have is 18+. You're a rare breed, enigmatic former-book store employee chick, you're a rare breed...

If you thought the "X is for little kids" mentality found in Lebanese culture was limited to comics... please, have a seat. Comics, cartoons, anime, video games, toys, all of it... And like I said two strips ago, don't just think of the adults! Kids are unknowingly being exposed to some... "risky" material.

#1- Dear Lord


Our story begins as many often do: with a traumatic incident. What's the deal with book stores just shoving every random book that happens to be in the format of comics (and even some that don't even come close) in the same section? Isn't it potentially dangerous having some book about a cuddly hamster or a Superman bedtime story right there near books with zombies, rape, zombie rape, and even... politics!
